Đực hình thành bởi dòng nước chảy từ dãy núi Trại Bưởi đổ xuống tảng đá vôi khổng lồ, thác Cối hiện lên với vẻ đẹp hoang sơ, đầy kỳ bí.

Cách TP Vinh 65km, theo QL46 – đường mòn Hồ Chí Minh, con đường dẫn chúng ta vào thác Cối nằm cách ngã 3 Thanh Thủy 7km, cách đường mòn 2km

Nhìn từ trên cao, thác Cối chảy vắt qua 2 ngọn núi Trại Bưởi và Gia Sắn thuộc xã Thanh Hà (Thanh Chương)

Trên con đường đất uốn lượn dẫn vào thác Cối là bạt ngàn màu xanh những đồi chè của người dân xã Thanh Hà

Điểm tô trong bức tranh mướt mát màu xanh đó là lác đác một vài ngôi nhà, với hình ảnh những người nông dân thuần phác

Màu xanh ấy cũng là mảng màu kết nối dẫn lối vào thác Cối

Đưa chúng ta đến với tầng bậc của những thác nước

Điểm nhấn của thác chính là đoạn dòng nước đổ xuống một hố sâu được ví như chiếc cối đá khổng lồ. Đây cũng là lý do người ta gọi con thác này là thác Cối.

Từ lòng “cối”, nước tiếp tục tràn xuống những bậc đá phía dưới òa vỡ tung bọt trắng xóa. Khói sóng li ti tỏa hơi mát lạnh, đồng thời khiến cho khung cảnh ảo mờ như chốn tiên cảnh.

Tuy nhiên, hiện nay nhiều người vẫn chưa được biết đến nơi này. Cũng vì thế, thác Cối vẫn giữ được vẻ hoang sơ giữa núi rừng Thanh Hà.
